From SW Michigan Farms to Your Home

We’re a community-rooted kitchen offering a simpler way to eat well and guilt-free. Whether you're a local looking for an easy weeknight dinner or a visitor hoping to enjoy convenient farm-fresh meals, we’ve got you covered.

Swing by our location to grab fresh meal kits for the days you want to cook, and frozen meals for the days you don’t, or order ahead and pick up your meals at one of our farm store partner locations (coming soon). By teaming up with local markets, producers, and farm stands, we pair the ease of ready-to-make and ready-to-eat meals with a commitment to sustainability and community—supporting local farms, nourishing your family, and celebrating the bounty of Southwest Michigan.

At Farm Chefs, we believe good meals shouldn’t come with guilt. That’s why we:

  • Partner with responsible local growers and ethical meat producers.
  • Only ever use compostable plastic (made from plants)
  • Share profits with the people who make it all happen.

We’re starting small but we’re building something big, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

  • Real food, grown with care. Cooked with purpose. Shared with pride.

Farm Chefs was born from a simple idea: that eating well shouldn't mean sacrificing your time, your values, or your connection to your community.

We’re a small team of farmers, cooks, and local food lovers who believe in the power of meals made with intention. We craft heat and go meals and meal kits that prioritize local and regional ingredients, minimize waste, and keep your weeknights delicious and stress-free.

Our kitchen is rooted in Southwest Michigan, where we partner with farms and producers to source fresh, seasonal ingredients whenever possible. We're not rigid about it—some ingredients, like spices or citrus, don’t grow here, and we’re okay with that. Our priority is thoughtful sourcing: supporting small farms, building relationships, and choosing quality over shortcuts.

  • What We Believe In

    • Local first. We source from Michigan farms whenever we can and support regional producers who share our values.
    • Food with integrity. No weird additives, no gimmicks. Just nourishing, flavorful meals made with fresh ingredients and a whole lot of care.
    • Sustainability that’s real. From compostable packaging to low-waste operations, we’re constantly working on ways to reduce our impact.
    • Human connection. We want you to know who’s feeding you. And we want to know what you need from us—so reach out, we’re listening.
  • Why We’re Doing This

Cooking from scratch with real ingredients can be hard to manage, even if you love it. Life is busy. The grocery store is overwhelming. And eating out at farm-to-table restaurants all the time adds up. We created Farm Chefs to be a new kind of solution—one that makes it easy to eat well and feel good about where your food comes from.

We're not a faceless brand. We're your neighbors. And we're building this for the same reason you're here: because food matters.

FAQs

What packaging is recyclable?

We use aluminum trays for some of our meals, which are fully recyclable in most curbside programs. We do not use traditional plastic containers. Our goal is to minimize waste while keeping your food safe and delicious.

What about your biodegradable plastic?

Some of our packaging is made from compostable bioplastics, like PLA (made from plants). These materials are designed to break down completely in industrial composting facilities, turning into harmless components like water, carbon dioxide, and organic matter.

While composting them at home isn’t feasible, these materials are still a major improvement. Even if they end up in landfills or the environment, they’ll degrade over decades rather than millennia.

Don’t have access to industrial compost pickup in your area? Simply bring back your rinsed off containers to your next pickup and we’ll handle it for you.

What does “local” mean to you?

We prioritize Southwest Michigan produce first. Our meat may come from a slightly wider regional network, depending on seasonality and supply, but always from farms we trust.

We also use high-quality pantry staples like pasta, tortillas, and sauces, either made in-house or sourced from Michigan producers. That said, we’re not purists—you’ll see some non-regional essentials like citrus and spices, because great meals still need flavor and balance.

What if the pickup time or location isn’t convenient for me?

We currently offer pickups at Local Pour in Sawyer, MI.

We’re working with farm partners to offer pick up during their store hours so you can combine the convenience of Farm Chefs meals with a farm experience.

If you'd like us to come to your area, email info@farmchefs.com and we’ll let you know when we expand.

Do you offer delivery?

Not formally at the moment, but we are exploring it. If our pickup times aren't convenient for you and you are interested in delivery service, please email info@farmchefs.com and we’ll discuss options. We want to work with you.

Do you offer allergen-friendly meals?

We often feature gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan options—especially when seasonal produce makes it easy. However, because we’re a small operation, we can’t initially guarantee allergen-friendly meals every week, and we do process most major allergens in our kitchen, including nuts, dairy, soy, wheat, eggs, and shellfish.

If you have a food allergy or sensitivity, please reach out before ordering—we’ll always be transparent and do our best to accommodate when possible.

Do your meal kits include cooking instructions?

Yes! Every meal kit includes a detailed recipe card with step-by-step instructions and any tips we think will help your meal turn out great.

Most kits can be cooked in about 30 minutes or less, and ready-to-eat meals just need to be popped in the oven—perfect for busy days or easy nights in.

What if I forget to pick up my meals?

We get it—things happen. If you miss your pickup window, just email us right away at info@farmchefs.com. We’ll do our best to hold or reroute your meals, but because we cook to order, missed pickups may not be refundable.
